3D scanning technology can be extremely beneficial in creating accurate and detailed as-builts and floor plans. Dimension NW uses precision laser scanning equipment to collect hundreds of thousands of precise measurements every second during a scan. This results in an incredibly accurate and realistic representation of buildings or landscapes.  These scans can take place in an existing facility, or during multiple phases of a construction project.  When utilized throughout the construction process, this data can include accurate locations of plumbing, HVAC, or electrical systems that will later be covered with drywall, resulting in valuable documentation that can be utilized throughout the life of the facility.​

Many facilities are still operating on 2D floorplans. The problem that we often see in aging buildings is outdated and inaccurate floorplans.  After years of renovations and changes, many floorplans do not even remotely resemble the current state of a given facility.

Dimension NW offers "one time" laser scanning services as well as a "managed plan" service where an initial 3D scan is completed in a facility and 2D and/or 3D plans are created.  The scans and plans can be hosted securely by Dimension NW, and any time there is a renovation or change in the facility, a quick scan is completed and the 2D and/or 3D plans are immediately updated.  With this model, facilities managers and staff always have the latest version of up to date plans at their fingertips.
